Aaliyah's debut album Age Ain't Nothin' However A Number debuted in 1994. The singer was barely fifteen when her debut album was released as Gold. R. Kelly heavily influenced the group and helped bring the singer to the forefront. In 1996, she collaborated together with Jermaine Dupri and Timbaland to release her second album One In A Million which featured the hit number one single If Your Girl Only Knew. Following the release of this work Aaliyah gained international attention for her work as an R&B performer. In 2000 she appeared in Romeo Must Die, a romantic action film with Jet-Li. Joel Silver, the film producer, saw her at a awards ceremony and offered her this part. In 2002 she was part of the film vampire Queen of the Damned based on the Anne Rice book. She then got into the Matrix in the form of Zee in The Matrix Sequels having also performed in The Matrix Reloaded in 2003 and The Matrix Revolutions in the same year. She is the first generation Indian-American who was born and raised in Connecticut. Mann is a contraction of her married final name Mankad. She uses Aarti Man and Aarti Mahumdar as her official name. Her acting career began in minor film and TV performances, but her fame was growing in the late 2000s. Apart from The Big Bang Theory, the other shows she has starred in are Leverage (2013) Suits (2014) and Grey's Anatomy (2017.) In addition, she was a part of several commercials including Volvo and other major automobile brand names. The actress currently resides in Los Angeles along with her wife, son and daughter. She also pursues her acting career.
